The Kardashian ladies (including lil sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner) are coming out with a line of nail polish with Nicole by OPI.  Though the colors are nothing we haven’t seen before, the some of the names are pretty chuckle-worthy like Khloe had a Little Lam-Lam, Follow Me on Glitter, Rainbow in the S-Kylie, Hard Kourt Fashionista, and Something Spar-Kylie, while others are scratch-head-look-confused-worthy like My Empire…My Rules, It’s All About the Glam and Disco Dolls.  The line will be available around Christmas-time.

Current beauty obsession: Graphite by Chanel
This glittery polish is like a gorgeous dirty puddle—imagery’s weird, I know, but the smoky gunmetal shade and flecks of sparkle are beautiful.  And unlike most glitter polish, this one isn’t sheer and it isn’t a pain in the neck to take off.

Chanel’s lacquer’s are always must-haves, like this shade.  It’s un-nameable tone (is it gold?  Green?) makes it fun and mysterious.

    Current beauty obsession: Nude nails
As fun as glitter and bright polish is, certain occasions call for a more subdue nail.  A suitable color for office and more formal events is nude, like Sally Hansen’s Terracotta, a flesh color polish created for Rachel Roy’s fall ’11 runway show.  This pic, snapped by Allure Magazine’s twitter shows how classy the skin color can look.  Opt for a shade that blends in well but not to the point where it looks like an extension of your finger.

We’ve talked a lot about summer whites when it comes to clothing, but that doesn’t mean nails shouldn’t get in on the white, clean fun.  Try a solid white, like Deborah Lippmann’s Like a Virgin, available at Barneys.

How To: Remove Glitter Nail Polish
When you’re ready to get rid of your sparkly fingernails, follow my steps for easy removal (one hand at a time):
1)      Prepare five strips of tin foil.  Each strip should be long enough to wrap about your finger loosely four or five times.
2)      Soak five cotton balls in nail polish remover and place a cotton ball on each fingernail.
3)      Wrap the tinfoil around your finger and the cotton ball to keep the cotton ball in place.
4)      Wait for about 10 minutes or as long as you can stand to, then remove the tinfoil and cotton ball for each finger.  You can gently rub the cotton against your nail to remove the left over glitter, but the polish should come off easily.
5)      Repeat on the other hand.
